FALLEN WORLD ALPHA RELEASE

Alpha 0.1 Release Notes

Welcome to the first Alpha release of Fallen World. This build is a total transformation of the project, focusing on a gloomy, high-consequence survival experience. We have stripped away legacy systems in favor of deep realism and tactical consistency.

Core Systems & Ballistics

  • Frozen's Physical Ballistics: Hitscan combat has been completely removed. All firearms now utilize physical projectiles with travel time, gravity-based bullet drop, and realistic drag.
  • Survival Framework 2.0: The legacy Advanced Needs system has been removed and replaced with a modern, high-performance survival framework built for stability.
  • Nomad Save Integration: Restored the ability to save at chairs and couches via new RobCo-integrated logic—no more relying on beds in the dangerous wasteland.
  • The Return of Tobacco: Smoking mechanics have been fully reintroduced with custom animations and effects.
  • Weather & Atmosphere (WIP): Ongoing integration of True Storms and Polluted Climate. This is a heavy work-in-progress focused on radiation hazards and ghoul-infested weather types.

Combat & Physics Enhancements

  • Bullet Penetration System: Projectiles can now pass through objects (and multiple targets) based on caliber-specific penetration values. Cover is no longer absolute.
  • Destructible Environments: Objects such as sandbags, doors, furniture, and tombstones can now be destroyed under heavy fire.
  • Explosive Chain Reactions: Explosives and flammable objects can now trigger each other. A single misplaced grenade can now set off a catastrophic series of detonations.
  • Dynamic Dismemberment: Fully integrated across all ammo types for consistent, gruesome results in every engagement.
  • Bastion & MAIM Synchronization: Fully patched armor/damage interactions to align with the new ballistics logic. Vanilla Blood Packs are restored, and MAIM’s SP-2 is now a standalone craftable item.

World, Factions & Loot

  • Faction Overhaul: Every major faction has been rebuilt to be more lore-friendly and fit the "Fallen World" aesthetic.
  • Gun Runners: A new source for modern, high-end armor and gear. You can now encounter roaming Gun Runner vendors throughout the Commonwealth (WIP).
  • Loot Rebalance: Removed SKK Dynamic Loot and Less Dungeon Loot. Rebalanced the economy manually to focus on rarity and progression.
  • Smart Containers: Scavenging is now more immersive; containers will no longer show as "Empty" until they are actually opened.
  • NPC Variety: Updated S7 skill system help entries, expanded NPC facegen variety, and integrated Danse Dilemma.
